You Guys, I Need a Haircut

necklace - By Love Designs (buy) | bracelet - gift from Oman (buy identical)
I.N.C. top - Navy Exchange | Express jeans - Marshalls
Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

Please don't judge my hair, I am well aware of how badly it needs to be cut. I have plans for a serious cut and probably some coloring just as soon as enough money appears in my bank account.

I also feel like I'm going through a bit of a quarter-life fashion crisis. Suddenly I have no interest in wearing all of those colorful dresses in my closet, I just want to wear solid pieces with interesting accessories, and I feel myself being drawn more and more to outfits that express my renewed interest in tribal or organic styles. Again, when that money appears, we'll see what happens as I start to overhaul some of my wardrobe. In the meantime, I'm going to go do some window shopping on Pinterest.

New Neon

necklace - By Love Designs (buy)
shirt - Maurices (buy) | jeans - Forever 21 | Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

My new clothes arrived yesterday, so naturally I'm already wearing one of the shirts. This is the only article of clothing I ordered that isn't red, and I didn't purposely make it a point to order red clothing, I think the color is just appealing to me right now. I've got plans to wear a few of the pieces next week, so we'll see if red is a good color for me.

I'd also like to point out that although this necklace was made with the intention of it being a Jacksonville Jaguars-colored necklace, I worked it into an outfit that is not Jags-themed at all, and I think the result was pretty darn cute!

The Visitor

necklace - heirloom (buy similar) | shirt - TJ Maxx (buy similar)
jeans - Forever 21 (buy) | Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

I wasn't even planning to share this outfit, since it ended up looking a lot more boring in photographs than it did in person, but I thought it was worth sharing in order to tell a little anecdote:

As you can probably tell, I take my outfit pictures in my backyard. My camera is placed in front of the sliding glass doors leading into my house, so I'm looking into the house while taking my photos, and my dog, Elwood, is usually looking out at me.

As I was taking photos this day, I heard a rustling behind me, turned around, and saw that a tiny little puppy from the house next door had slipped through the fence and into my yard. I'm a huge dog person, so as soon as I see a dog -- and especially a puppy -- any concentration that had been dedicated to anything else is gone.

I could hear my neighbor next door calling to the dog, so I tried to call it over to me to help him out. When Elwood saw that puppy running to me, he lost it. He started barking and whining and jumping at the GLASS doors to try to get out. Needless to say, my photo shoot was over and I had only ten photos to work with, when usually I take at least twice that many. But I got a photo with my little visitor in it, and that's what counts!

Unusual Neutral

LC by Lauren Conrad necklaces - Kohl's (buy, buy)
striped top - Loft (buy similar) | jacket - Forever 21 (buy similar)
Mossimo jeans - Target (buy) | Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

A couple of weeks ago at work one of the male co-workers that sits in my area turned from his computer and told my (female) neighbor and I, "I just read that leopard print is a new neutral."

He and my neighbor had a little scoff, after which I spoke up and said that I had just worn a red and beige striped top with leopard flats the day before, and was a huge fan of mixing other prints with leopard. I'm not sure I have them sold on the idea, but it's become almost an intentional effort now to work pattern mixing with leopard print into my outfits.

How did I do with this one?

Leopard for Days

Voodoo Vixen cardigan - Amazon (buy) | INC top - Navy Exchange (buy)
shorts - Maurices (buy similar) | Xhilaration sandals - Target (buy similar)
chain - JC Penney | charms - Swarovski (buy)

My efforts to continue to come up with blog-worthy ensembles for spring continue. This outfit actually ended up being perfect for a Sunday spent grocery shopping and catching up on The Walking Dead while working on jewelry orders for my shop. I just ordered a couple more lightweight cardigans, so prepare yourself for lots of springtime layering!

Casual Comfy

necklace - Kellie Creates (buy)
Mossimo sweater - Target (buy in purple) | Mossimo jeans - Target (buy)
Mossimo flats - Target (buy)

This outfit was not sponsored by Target or Mossimo, but if it were I think I would have made them proud. I was just thinking the other day about what store I would choose if I could only shop for clothes at one place for the rest of my life. No question, it would be Target. Any other fellow Target addicts out there?

Keeping Warm

zip tank - Charlotte Russe (buy similar) | Mossimo cardigan - Target
scarf - World Market (buy similar) | jeans - Forever 21 (buy)
Report boots - Famous Footwear (buy) | bracelet - gift from Oman (buy similar)

Well, I guess it's a good thing I haven't packed up my boots yet, the temperatures have dropped once again. My only tip for planning your wardrobe for this time of year: Check the weather every night and pick out your outfit for the next day accordingly!
